Memorandum Submitted to Honourable Minister Shri. Pon Radhakrishnan, Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping,  by all staff members of the entire Tamilnadu in general and Tirunelveli in particular.



Respected Sir,



            This is regarding the declaration of holiday for the PONGAL festival on 14.01.2017.   Sir, it is needless to say that  the PONGAL festival is one of traditional , holy  and  very  special  festival of Tamil people.  Due to some reason the holiday was not listed in the holiday list of Central Government Employees.  It is our humble to follow the traditional festival to be greatly celebrated on the day.



            Therefore, for and on behalf of the staff members of the Central Government employees in general and the Postal employees in particular, we would like to request you sir, to initiate action to declare the holiday for PONGAL on 14.01.2017 on “ Negotiable Instrument Act” which may not be hurdle, both for the Central and State Services.



            We eagerly await for the announcement at the earliest possible of your own convenience.
